Terms of Service

SpeakResume is a tool that helps you build a résumé by talking. By using it you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If anything here is unclear, email hello@speakresume.ai and we’ll explain in plain English.

You sign in with an email address and a one-time link. You are responsible for keeping access to that email secure. Don’t share your sign-in link with anyone — it grants access to your résumés.

You must be at least 16 years old to use SpeakResume.

SpeakResume offers a paid monthly subscription. Building, editing, and previewing your résumé is free. Downloading the final PDF requires an active subscription.

Payments are processed by Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel. Subscription prices are shown at checkout and may change with notice; changes do not affect your current billing period.

You can cancel any time from the Account page. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period — you keep download access until then. We do not pro-rate refunds for partial months, but if something has clearly gone wrong, email us and we will make it right.

You own everything you put into SpeakResume — your voice recordings, transcripts, and résumé content. We claim no ownership over it.

You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to run the service: transcribe your voice, structure it into résumé sections, render the PDF, and store it on your account so you can come back to it. We do not use your content to train AI models.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you put on your résumé. We will not knowingly help you misrepresent your background.

You agree not to use SpeakResume to:

• Generate résumé content for someone else without their permission.
• Misrepresent your identity, qualifications, or work history.
• Probe, scan, or attempt to bypass our rate limits or security controls.
• Resell, scrape, or redistribute the service or its outputs at scale.
• Upload audio that is unlawful, harassing, or that you do not have the right to share.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, typically after warning when the situation allows.

The structured résumé content is produced with the help of third-party large language models and speech-to-text models. These models can make mistakes — they may misinterpret what you said, drop details, or generate phrasing you would not have used. You are expected to review and confirm every section before downloading.

We do our best to keep the pipeline accurate, but we do not warrant that the output is free of errors, suitable for any specific job application, or compliant with any particular employer’s formatting requirements.

SpeakResume is provided on an “as-is” and “as-available” basis. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may take the service down for maintenance or to address security issues, and we may change or remove features.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SpeakResume and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, including lost opportunities, lost wages, or rejected job applications. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these terms is capped at the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.

You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. We can suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms or if we are required to by law. On termination your résumés and transcripts are deleted in line with our Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms from time to time. If the change is material we will notify you by email and update the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.
